Ankara University Receives European Language Label Award

The Distance Turkish Testing (UTS) Project developed by TÖMER has become the first project from Turkey to win European Language Label Award of the Center for European Union Education and Youth Programmes (National Agency). The award was presented to Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Nusret Aras by the Minister of State Mehmet Ali Şahin in a ceremony held in the Dedeman Hotel.

The Distance Turkish Testing Project, one of 6 projects to receive the award out of 54 applications, is a computer-based testing tool development project to be applied via the Internet to assess Turkish language proficiency of foreigners learning Turkish. Both software and application structure of the Project is prepared by Bilemek Ltd. Company and the Project is sponsored by TÜBİTAK.

European Label Language Award is granted annually to successful and innovative language projects developed in European countries and the winners are entitled to use the European Language Label Award logo. For further information, see www.ua.gov.tr.
