TRABZON BRANCH
Trabzon Branch of Ankara University TÖMER is at Ortahisar District, one of the oldest settlements in the city of Trabzon. Around TÖMER Trabzon Branch, at Ortahisar District, are such important sites as Zağnoş Paşa Bridge, Tabakhane Bridge, Historycal city walls, Directorate of Culture of the City of Trabzon, Ortahisar and Gülbaharhatun mosques.
TÖMER Trabzon Branch is located within Kanuni Park. TÖMER building, adjacent to the other historical buildings, is known as the house in which Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent was born. TÖMER Trabzon building is in a historical atmosphere where learners can find peace and quiet.
TÖMER Trabzon Branch is a fifteen-minute drive from Atatürk avenue – the city centre – as well as such important regions of the city as Kunduracilar street, Gazipaşa street, Uzun Street and Kemeraltı.
There are cinemas, shopping centres, cafes and restaurants at the city centre, where students can enjoy social and cultural life. Minibuses that provide transportation facilities within the city limits are ideal for a trip to such historical places as Hagia Sofia Museum and Atatürk Palace.
TÖMER Trabzon Banch was founded in 1992; languages taught at the centre include Turkish to learners from Central Asian states and from other countries, English, German, Russian, French and Arabic. Closed in 2001, TÖMER Trabzon Branch was reopened in its present location. Currently, English, German, French, Russian and Turkish courses are organised. TÖMER Trabzon Branch features 6 classrooms in its 4-floor building.
